Language Barrier

New Treading Ground!

Why, yes, that is a tattoo on Nina's breast, a "tat for tit," if you will.

Site News

Search is here! - Look to your left and you will find a search box that allows you to delve through the archives to find that one comic you may have been thinking of to share with your friends.

Currently, there are a little under half of all the comics transcribed and therefore searchable, so if you're looking for yaoi or Superman Returns jokes, you can find them, but we still need transcriptions on the majority of comics. Big thanks to Luis X, MBB, Cailement, TecRogue, David U. and everyone else who has contributed transcriptions so far!

You can see which comics still need transcribing here.

Ask Me Anything - I'm now on Formspring.me. I noticed a couple of the cool kids doing it, so I figured I'd give it a shot. You can submit questions, anonymously or not, and you don't need a login. I'll probably answer, although I reserve the right to respond in sarcastic non-answers.

Harbinger

New Treading Ground!

Oh yes, there will be new characters.

Site News:

Archivists, Treading Ground needs your help! Next week I will be putting up a Search button on the comic that will allow you to quickly jump to specific comics you may remember without having to dig through the entire archive. I'm employing a service called OhNoRobot to make this happen, and that means we will need transcriptions.

If you see a graphic like this one below any comic in the archive, it needs a transcription. You don't need to sign up for anything to do that, and it only takes a minute or two. I know a lot of you are here because you're bored, so why not help out? Once the comic is transcribed, the button will disappear, so let's make it happen.

Bonus Art!

We saw snow three times in Atlanta in 2010, so I figured that was worth some art. This is the first time I've drawn a winter scene!

Oh, and if you're looking for some art that's more of the NSFW variety, check out my submission to KeenLace 2010. As you can see, Rose isn't big on the whole "lace" aspect.

Location, location, location.

New Treading Ground!

The awesome art on the wall there (the Simpsons fish, not Death Machine) is a print called The Sojourn of Blinky, and was made by my good friend Phil of The Shallow End Press. Give him a visit!

Site News

I've improved the navigation on the left and linked to other projects I'm involved in like That Sci-Fi Guy and cohorts such as the aforementioned Phil. I've also applied this menu to the Daily view as well as made the Archive page look less like ass. The changes are in the can and should be applied later tonight.

Trailer Trash

New Treading Ground!

Just in case you forgot (and no one would blame you if you did,) here's a synopsis of Rose's current living situation.

Some site news of note...

Sharing is not not caring

I've made it easier than ever to share TG with your friends, social networks, or just anonymous jackoffs on the intertubes. Click on the buttons below the main comic or any page in the archive to automatically share that comic on StumbleUpon, Facebook, Digg, del.icio.us, Reddit, or Twitter.

Who says you can't change the past?

You're kind of getting two new comics this week, because I went back into the archive and re-did a comic that has been annoying me for years. Check it out then and now. The new version isn't awesome enough to knock you out of the natural flow of the archive, but it does get rid of that Three's Company bullshit I tried to pull the first time around.

Guest Strips Restored

Over the years I've received a lot of fanart and guest strips from some very talented, and sometimes very twisted people. It's now all together on one page, and features some guest strips that have been missing from the site for quite some time by my old partners in crime Shishio and Henshin.

Speaking of Guest Art, the deal is still the same as it always has been. You send me guest art, it gets put up on the site, and is then housed forever on the Guest Art page.

New Treading Ground!

Looking back

Just for shits and giggles, I decided to compare this scene to the last time I drew Rose and Nate in a car together.

Wow.

Now, admittedly, that was nearly 6 years ago, but if we're talking actual drawing time it's more like 6 months. Nice to see I can keep improving.

A sad existence.

TG Update

I totally want to own Derek's shirt in this one.

I've been trying to get the word out this week that the comic is back, so you may have seen my ad flying in some unusual places. If you're a new reader, welcome! And if you're here from Collar 6, I'm sorry there's not more bondage, but hopefully you'll find the comic funny.

If you want to help spread the word that TG is back, please grab a graphic from the Link to TG page! I would seriously appreciate it.

RELAUNCHED.

The prodigal comic has returned. Updates happen every Monday. Life is good.

This comic references this particular great man's tale of woe. Although I poke fun, I do feel some compassion for the guy, because judging from the video game reviews and generally geeky stuff he is into, he is of my tribe.

New Stuff

New Look - Although TG has always been a work in progress, expect to see even more evolution of the art as the weeks go by. Currently the biggest changes are probably the way I draw noses and draw and color hair. I've also changed the frames to reflect that this is not a pretend newspaper comic, and I've switched up the font. I hope these changes will improve the overall comic, and if they don't, I can shitcan them.

Update Schedule - We're starting with once a week on Mondays. This is to allow me to get back into practice and also because I have a fulltime job. My goal is to get back up to multiple updates eventually.

Ads - After 7 years of doing this comic, it's time for the first ads that actually create revenue for me. It will keep me from having to sell nudie pics of my characters. (It doesn't seem right to charge for that!)

If you have a website, comic, Etsy store or anything else, you can get your ad on this site right now for less money than you're likely to find in your couch cushions!

Twitter - If you ever bother to scroll down all the way, you will notice a box linked to my Twitter account on the bottom left. Feel free to follow me there, or just keep an eye on it here.
