I started reading webcomics in late 2002, thanks to
the influence of my roommates. I started with a couple of the
big ones, PvP and Penny Arcade, as well as Men In
Hats. I had always possessed a minimal level of drawing ability and the capability of
forming complete and mostly coherent sentences, so I began to think that
I too could run a webcomic. After reading Avalon, I realized
that the webcomic medium could be used effectively for more than
just gag-a-day hijinks.
I went through several ideas before settling on
Treading Ground. Deciding that it's best to go with what you know,
I borrowed parts of the storyline from experiences in my own life.
No one is an exact copy, but many of the characters you see are based in
part on myself and/or other people I've known.
Aside from webcomics, I'm also into
anime and manga, alternative music, and movies.
